Bunch of wankers.

Post by tut » Fri Nov 07, 2014 8:29 pm

The Banks are now bragging that they will give the same deals to existing customers, as they give to new customers. That is so generous of them, that I almost fainted.

Many of us have sat back like bloody dummies over the years with ridiculous overdraft charges etc, but at last it is changing. They have had to pay back billions for their corrupt practices which of course we end up paying for, but at least they can no longer hide, they are right out in the open now.

agree - annoying policy and the reason why I will change from BT broadband to another supplier soon - BT only offer good deals to new customers

they are all fcuk ers - strangely enough now we have RBS sniffing about after being no use what so ever during the post 2008 nonsense, when they decided to try and charge us for our company credit cards, wanted £60k against an import bond of £80k.

Strangely enough we've given them no business since.......

HSBC actually have some interesting accounts, especially if you need accounts in more than one country

HSBC are pretty good, to a point, In certain countries they're a joke, it's taken us 6 months to open an account in Abu Dhabi. But 3 days to open one in France. Ironically they only have 4 branches in Shanghai, despite that being the S in HSBC. That said, every 'western' bank is virtually impossible to operate in China.

We've got around 20 foreign accounts globally, and 15 are HSBC, the rest are a mix of RBS and local national banks.

All banks are pretty useless and only interested in helping if there's a huge facility fee involved.

Just changing over from Halifax to Santander, I have £22,000 in Verian's account, she does not pay tax on it, and we are getting 0.1% interest. With Santander she will get 3% on the Account along with 2% on Utilities etc, and 1% on shopping.

Seems a no brainer.

Agreed on the Santander 123 account. We're in the process of opening a business account with the Santander having been shafted by HBOS once too many times. I am under no illusions, though - they will be just as bad I am sure!

It's just part of life nowadays. This year, I left the AA because they wanted to charge 50% to me than a new customer despite 8 years with them.
Every 2 years I search around for a new mobile phone contract, and usually bounce between the 3 big networks for the best deal.
We all know about car insurance.
Utilities
Mortgages
TV/phone/broadband

What next!
'16 MINI Cooper S - Family fun hatch
'98 Lotus Elise - Fun day car
'04 Maserati Coupe GT - Manual, v8, Italian...
'18 Mazda Mx5 - The wife's, so naturally my daily
'19 Ducati Monster 797 - Baby bike bike
