Hi All,
Katie is looking for somewhere to stay in Dundee 21/9 to 25/9 - she's going to be there for a few weeks and has got B&B covered for most of it, but that week is the Ryder cup or something like that so finding it hard to book anything ... so if anyone knows of any empty flats or whatever else that could be rented for those days, that would be interesting.
Answers on a post-card of by PM as you wish
Ta,
Robin (& Katie)

Hi Robin,
Assuming she has checked the Apex and Malmaison (two nice hotels in Dundee) can recommend a few places.
This is just across the water from Dundee over with us in Newport-On-Tay

Try here -
https://www.airbnb.co.uk/s/Newport~on~T ... ed-Kingdom - Newport is a lovely village, good bus to Dundee as well.
These guys are our next door neighbours, they do rent by the room, so worth contacting them -

Also check out here - think it is the same as the first link, but by room instead.

Stayed at Mal in June and was of usual standard.
Used to stay at the DoubleTree by the technology park a fair bit. Def recommend it.

The Ryder Cup is at Gleneagles. Does it really affect Dundee?

It affects half of Scotland, Tut, it would seem. Dundee is only 30 mins or so away, and volume accom near the course is sparse. Apart from Gleneagles Hotel itself...if one has a 2nd mortgage to fund a room that particular week!

Tut - No idea whether it is the cup or what, but it has been hard to get B&B that week.
Dave, thanks very much for that, will pass your list on and hopefully Katie will pick something not too expensive (we're paying as the state doesn't fund the masters course she's doing at Dundee uni, not even by student loan

).
Cheers,
Robin

Pity it was not being held at The Donald's, we could have rented the house out.

Sorry just spotted this thread.
Broughty Ferry Hotel has a good reputation. Its small but well thought of as an eatery too.

My wife is friends with the owners of the Milton Inn in Monifieth. If you are struggling to find some place I am happy to ask her although in my experience the food could be better.

Serviced apartments in Dundee -
http://www.westportservicedapartments.com also the city centre travellodge is fine as it fairly new. A bit more up market you have the hilton on kingsway or the invercarse on perth road.
If further out the station hotel in Carnoustie is good and about 15 miles from Dundee but good train links (approx 12 minute train journey)
