Looking for a good lease deal

Post by Kayfur » Fri Aug 22, 2014 5:18 pm

My brother in law is looking to lease a car for business but, having always had company cars in the past, has no idea where best to look.

He has suggested something like an Audi A3 or Skoda Yeti.

Any suggestions?

Assuming he is a Ltd company remember the BIK tax which is based on fuel efficiency and car list price. Some of the Hybrids make a lot of sense in this area.

I have a contact who has a vehicle leasing company and is trustworthy if he needs to run it by someone and get some figures. :thumbsup

Others here have used him with good results too. 8)

to get a good deal look for an expensive car which isn't selling - our SLK cost just £199 a month (inc service, road tax and tyres) which is less than we'd have paid for a corsa!

audi's i'd avoid, as the waiting time is almost 6 months at the moment. ditto any new release car, bmw 1 series or merc A class are both expensive at the moment. the land rover evoque was £800 a month 2 years ago and is half that now as it's no longer a new model so it's no longer the cool car to get.

merc c classes are cheap as fook right now, slk is still about £200

shop about then find the lowest company and email them claiming you can get a deal £50 a month cheaper - they will work like barsteward to get your price even close to that and you'll be surprised how low they can go.

Watch out for companies offering low monthly payments, they will often have a big arrangement fee, plus a big deposit. Look at the total of the costs.

Beware of the hand back conditions too, we were hit with a huge bill when our Merc was handed back ' to bring it up to standard' . We managed to wriggle out of it but we're lucky to do so.

This is a good lease deal - http://www.rivervaleleasing.co.uk/car-l ... -5dr-56520

The BVRLA dictate (and arbitrate, if necessary) the hand back conditions, not the lease company.

Pay for the car with taxed income and don't get involved with BIK nonsense, it simply isn't worth it. You can claim 45p per mile from your company for business mileage.

Worth speaking to the leasing guys at Reg Vardy BMW Edinburgh. If not in a rush, they have come through with some awesome deals in the past.

Excellent, lots of good info and suggestions to follow up on - much appreciated. I'll pass on all this stuff on to my BIL. Donald, could you pm me with the details of your leasing contact please.

Thanks,

Kevin

Spent last night with a bottle or Ron doing some man maths and leasing is looking favourable for the family wagon.
Anyone seen any decent 5 series or e class leasing deals, usual 10k 3yr deals?

We've just leased 2 x 520ds via Harry Fairbairn (arnold) and they both were sub £300 on a 3 +35 10k.

We've also leased 2 xc60s on similar deals via Taggarts.

Both deals were cheaper than any of the online brokers we normally use.
