Bit shocked to login and find nothing.... Thought i'd find some amusing opinions in amongst some serious points of view.

6 weeks to go and I imagine for quite a few people this will have been the first time that they've really tuned in to learn more.

I don't think either represented their cause particularly well, boy-ish behaviour, and no real victory for either, not to mention not many answers from either!

both trying to "Win" rather than answer questions in case it let the other party score point on them.

You could see that there were questions that were talked around and that the question asker had a point, but they just wouldn't concede anything. I thought the questions towards the end showed them both in a better light where they agreed that it would be hard either way and it would need to be discussed to get the best out of it.

Was on planes / trams / trains while the playground spat was underway. Intend to watch when available for replay.

I want no Nuclear - either fuel or weapons - thats a big life thing for me so id like to vote yes for that reason,

however, I am British and want to remain part of the UK. Bit of a dilemma.

As for the debate, Salmond was slippery, and lost votes by not answering the currency question. Its fundamental.
I thought Darling was pretty good, I learnt some things about pension etc tonight.
So, overall, I think Salmond would gain voters who dont care about the currency thing, but he would lose the voters who do care about it.
I dont think Darling did anything too wrong

Watched ten minutes, got frustrated by some inane questions from the audience: "Mr Darling, do you have an address in Scotland?"

Darling: "yes."
Audience: "but you said you never voted for Mr Salmond"
Darling:"I voted for the Labour candidate, I don't see a problem with that."
Audience: ".....do you have an address in Scotland?"

The there were some good audience points that the chair didn't let Salmond/Darling answer.

Tried to watch it from my hotel darn sarf but STV monumentally fcuk up and the website and app crashed.

Good idea to choose yesterday to open it up to non Scottish postcodes

Opinion i've read seems to think that Darling did better than expected and at worst got a "draw" and at best won. Certainly from speaking to Mrs Donkey (who hasn't decided yet) she was very very very annoyed with Alex not answering questions on currency. That alone could decide the vote for her.

He said that the viable alternatives were listed on page 4 of the financial study, but he was essentially "shooting for the stars" and wanted the pound because it was best for the Scottish people. People didn't want to hear that though.

If he had just told people the other options and how they weren't his first choice and he'd be going down the route of the pound then he would have done himself a lot of favours.

He cannot answer a question he doesn't know the answer to, he's aiming for keeping the £ and will try his very best to bully his way to get it after a Yes vote, but until then he could have Plan B, Plan C, Plan D... none of which will be any more concrete than his desired plan A.

There are a lot of unanswered questions, it's a massive step into the dark and a huge gamble and for that reason alone, we'll not be seeing a Yes vote this year for sure.

They won't win because people want certainties for the future from the Yes campaign. They are not asking the same from the No campaign.

some good questions ignored to go for glory, I though that Darling was given a harder time by the presenter than fishy was (for the bit I saw anyway)
I have never been a fan of AD and thought he wasn't best choice but was surprised he did rather well, Salmond as usual came across as condescending. Nothing I saw or heard made me switch to a 'yes' and I would thing there wasn't much to sway the undecided towards Independence.

People resist change in almost every aspect of their lives and the Yes faction really don't understand that if you want to change peoples lives you need to feed them information about what that involves and offer them some positive actions and they simply haven't done that.

100% agree.

The reality is that "yes" need to convince people that it will lead to a better place, "no" need to do nothing.

My big worry still remains that the utopia that has been painted still hasn't been costed and i'd be worried about a backlash when people realise that a higher GDP doesn't instantly mean we're all better off. If someone said "we'll have to take a hit fro 10 years then we'll be quids in" then i'd be much more inclined to listen closely.

There is a "set up cost" that comes with a yes vote that isn't there with a no vote - therefore i, and i'm sure others, need to be sure it's worth the investment. That's how i'd look at it if it was a work thing and i'm afraid that's how i look at things in my personal life. Passion has it's place but this isn't it.
