So, Bernie has acquired a "get out of jail for free" card.... (well not that free really). Case inconclusive, but I guess his payment is as good as an admission of guilt.
Have to see the irony in his "pay off" on the bribery case.

Bizarre. So I wonder how large the payment would need to have been to persuade him to continue with this 'tiresome bore' and not just make this small withdrawal from his petty cash??

He has been going to Court twice a week since April, so £60m out of £4.3 billion is well worth it to him, he gets a closed case, and the German Treasury gets the money less £1m to Charity.
