Yes, will be the same. I would think the £4500 is quite a lot for it, in used condition.

Graeme Lovie still has a brand new K series engine crated alongside his S1 which has not moved for ten years.

Hey there,
Noticed this post regarding 190/200 BHP engines. Are these for S2 and how much?
Thanks
Danny

Actually not quite. The 190 has a throttle body intake that is different between the two cars and obviously you'll need an ECU that will work (i.e. the S2 Sport190 ECU or an emerald and some wiring skillz).
Cheers,
Robin

Couldn't hazard a guess............Mark Vaughan was the chap I spoke to a few years back......the price will have risen exponentially since then

Ah, senile moment, thought that he meant a standard engine.

Were the VHPD motors not something crazy like 13K or was that the evo units?

Tut,
Even the standard engines are different, though you can use the bits off your old engine to swap about on the new engine to make S1 fit S2 and vice versa. The intake cam is fitted with a distributor drive in S1 but not S2; the exhaust cam has a half moon lobe for engine synchronization in the S2 but not the S1. There are probably a few other, minor, differences.
Cheers,
Robin

Graeme Lovie's engine is actually an S2 one, wonder what it would look like after ten years outside in a t-chest.
