Mk7 Golf GTD
Mk7 Golf GTD
Now that I'm finished up working offshore and doing the daily commute I'm thinking about buying a mk7 Golf GTD. Official mpg figure of 67mpg (50mpg real world?), plenty torque etc.
Does anyone have any experience of them? Any other options worth considering? I am actually tempted by some of the lease deals flying around for the Golf R but the mpg will probably be too sore to run as a daily.

Cheers Ian, I actually drove a friends 330D X-Drive a couple of weeks back - very impressive and definitely an option. We already have a 'big' family car which my wife will now probably run, the Golf is small enough that she can take in to town etc if needed.

Buy a diesel shed and run in it into the ground ? No, thought so - not your style......

Gents opposite us have a black one - looks very stealthy and most smart.

Not everyones choice but when last down at mmc i bought a new volvo v60. Great mpg , smooth comfortable ride and only 20 quid year road tax. Ignore the old man tag

I've got a Mk7 GTI and to be honest you'd probably struggle to find a better all rounder apart from maybe an S3. Mine has got the performance pack and I see a constant 35mpg - it has been creeping up slightly as the mileage has increased.
That said, I'm considering selling it as I'm looking at a Cayman, so if you fancy a 3500 mile 5 door Mk7 GTI in carbon steel grey with every option ticked other than leather and pano roof, let me know
