If anyone out there hates them as much as me ( :puke )there's a petition going to get them dropped.

https://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/ ... d-uniforms

There's been about 200 signatures in the last 10 minutes

Unbelievable, they will be a laughing stock.

Did David Blunkett design them?

How the hell did that get past the "focus group"....can't believe that's the best we can do....full-face "tartan" balaclava to complete the look and hide the shame.

Sadly I doubt it's going to change things at this late stage as they truly are horrendous, but there are only around 8k signatures after 3 days so either apathy or bad taste prevails

2200 signatures in the last 2 hours (presumably since it's appeared on the BBC website).

We can only hope

Lets hope it's a no vote as self determination looks a bit shonky if the simple act of coming up with some matching clothes ends up like this.

From what I have seen, apart from folk with a vested interest in the games, there has been complete apathy for the games. At least people are now united with passion...... Not that I'm a cynic but all publicity is good publicity.
The outfits are an absolute joke, if I was an athlete I might be feigning an injury so I didn't have to wear it.

Maybe I'm not best placed to comment as my working life for the last 3 months has been pretty much Games based but if you're living or working in Glasgow there is no escaping it and it is very much the focus of the Glasgow population (& that is both positive & negative ).
From what I can gather the costumes are the 'dress uniform' so most of the athletes are spared the embarrassment.

None of my friends are in the least bit interested.
I think they were, I was too, but as nobody managed to get tickets for any of it and the build up has been going on for what feels like the last twenty years we've all lost interest.
Shame really.

The 'big sports day' is proving a bit of a damp squib.

Much better coming to the Silverstone Classic and watching me make a dick of myself in the F3 race next weekend!

Seems to be quite a lot of support from it around Glasgow tbh. Much like London 2012, wasn't fussed, don't have tickets but really looking forward to it now. Will watch the (bike) road race again.

I am in the "don't care about the CW games" camp. Athletics bores me , its not football ! But the most annoying thing was the road closure @ the Apex hotel in Dundee with no prior notice on site ... had to find a temp route to work. Security guards got a broadside day 1 ... which made me feel better .... although not their fault.

I don't watch sports at all. I'm increasingly into cycling and help out with my daughters club a bit, but not the competitive side but most folk I know have/want tickets and are watching something.
I think it's quite exciting and hope it goes well.

There is a good chance that not a single Olympic or World record will be broken at the Games.

Plus many of the big hopes seem to be going down like flies. I will be watching but depends on the quality whether I will be there at the end.
