Article taken from the TLF

With the recent recruitment of Scott Walker as the UK Territory Manager Lotus are reaffirming their home market position and are setting their future plans in place. Scott comes from a Lotus dealership background with a total of 10 years at Lotus’s longest standing dealer, Bell & Colvill and has experience with running his own Lotus specialist operation. With a rich history with the brand Scott lead many initiatives which saw B&C maintaining their position as one of the top UK dealership throughout his tenure, including many bespoke cars which are still held in high regard and sought after today. Scott will be working closely with Graeme Robertson, Head of Sales for Europe who before his 4 years at the factory had a similar background with Murray Lotus in Edinburgh working as their Sales Manager for 11 years trading the top dealer spot with Scott on many occasions. This ‘coal face’ background in the sales team should allow the UK dealers a stronger position to and push the company forward over the coming months and years in this important market with a factory support team now able to boast over 25 years of combined experience in UK Lotus sales and customer service.

A more recent addition to the team is Andy Higgins as Sales and Marketing Director who started this week. Andy’s automotive experience spans more than 2 decades in the industry including positions for Vauxhall and GM and more lately working his way up the senior rungs of the career ladder with Chevrolet Europe to become Managing Director, UK & Ireland. Reporting directly to the CEO, Andy has joined Lotus at an exciting time and we look forward to his contributions to the company as he settles into the position.

Was speaking to Graeme at Goodwood and the emphasis is definitely shifting. They new boss is very much focused on shifting cars which sounds obvious but something Lotus have struggled to do in the last few years despite having their strongest line up of cars.

Hopefully see the company move onwards and upwards with more realistic goals that they can achieve which in turn will lead to backward investment to develop new product. Announced that last quarter was their best sales figures in many years.

Take it your looking at the Cup and not Cup R or are you just thinking of using it for racing?

Andy, car will be for Sprint and hillclimb (maybe, there are changes afoot in the championship I don't like so we will see), SLS, possibly SMRC (if Ruth will let me) and trackdays (lots of trackdays). The R is an awful lot of money and then not road legal. Most of the Cup R spec can be added to the Cup car post registration, everything other than the sequential gearbox (Lotus say they won't put that in a road car, we'll see :) )
