Need to get a new phone for work. Presently have an I-Phone 4S but have had enough of Apple.
Happy to change to anything.
Primarily needs to be able to make/receive calls (surprise surprise)with a quality bettter than Apple, work with Word / Excel, handle usual private email, work with Microsoft Outlook (mail, contacts, calendar etc) run a few aps.
I do not have a lot of music on my phone and am definately not tied to I-Tunes.

Nexus 5 and sim only tarrif is hard to beat I reckon.
I'm currently on a 3 tariff, 30 day rolling with unlimited 4G etc. for £12.90 a month.
I'd avoid windows phones like the plague personally. Tried using one at the weekend and was horrible imho. Android these days is really good and some may say better than Apple. No issues with Word or Excel etc either.
Cheers!
Dave.

Nothing specific as such and we'd also had a few shandies at the time....
But basically we were trying to delete some messages, switch between apps and just do stuff on the windows phone that you'd do all the time on any phone. Iphones and Androids all had no issue and were much of a muchness in terms of usability. But it all ended up with a bunch of us huddled round the windows phone cursing and shouting at it and wondering what monkey had written the code for it. It just seemed totally counter intuitive and clunky compared to the others. It was a bit like using V1.0 of the software on it whereas the Android and Iphone were on V23.0 or something. It's a long way behind the competition just now.
The guy with the windows phone ended up just leaving it in his pocket and asking us to take pics and send messages etc. He'd only had it a week (new company phone) and was ready for smashing it.

OK Getting somewhere. This is better than 'Which' magazine for sure....

.
Have decided to go for Android.....Now which one........
Cost of the handset is not a big factor as the tariff will be a scary one re travelling in Europe constantly and occassional Worldwide, so will get a bucketload of credit with which to buy the handset. Need to be able to access easily the folowing;
Word
Excel
Google Maps
BA App
KLM App
SAS App
London transport APP
Sonos
Taptalk
Spotify
Sky
Whatsapp
thanks gents/ladies
