Dog Wagon

After selling the Porsche 964, it was time to get sensible and get a "general" everyday car, esepcially as Sandra's company car (Clio 200RS) goes back in October.

Due to us having the dog, our usual choices were a little limited due to space. As the dog was shuddering every time he approached the Clio RS due to the hard ride we knew it had to be something a little bit more practical.

So bullet was bitten and ended up with this:

BMW 3 Series 335D X-Drive with the majority of bells and whistles in the option box ticked. Engine is also putting out a very nice 313bhp. Also de-badged so that majority of people think its a 320D to hopefully stop any traffic light challenges :D

Loving the cossetting ride and all the various gadets.

Big bonus is that the dog now wants to get into the car, open the tailgate and he jumps straight in!!

Not managed to give it a decent blast yet but reckon the next on the shopping list will be the AC Schnitzer springs. The X-Drive is slightly flawed in the spring set up from standard (even with the Adaptives I have specced) so for the sake of £300 + fitting it makes it a simple upgrade with warranty intact :-) Just love German TUV approval ;-)

Sounds like an epic Q car. That dog is beginning to cost you a lot of money! Look forward to seeing it. :thumbsup

It was a big decision on the colour. Liked the M Sport Electric Blue but there are now a lot of them and wanted to be a little bit stealthier.

Other colours did not look quite right on the Tourer. Sandra did veto a "Valencia Orange" version however :D

That would have definitely stood out

However with the red leather inside against the white looks really nice and brightens up the interior, definitely a better choice than black.

Got handed this from the guys at Harry Fairbairn in Kirkcaldy for a long weekend to review..... 330d M Sport Plus package. Like Scotty, white cars not really my bag, but it suited the red leather well. The 20" optional wheels made it quite skittery when trying to put down the power and enormous amount of torque through the rear wheels, but a sublime drive and all the toys.

That looks fantastic George. It's the last of the German estates I've yet to try as same need for dog carrying duties. Really interested to hear in time how this serves you. Does this come with run flats, or being high spec/power does it have normal tyres and a can of gunk?
And on colour, whilst white seems to be fading as a popular colour choice, I think it really suits that car and model. :thumbsup
( looks WicKeD?! )
