Somewhere between Queen Station and Hilton Hotel, William St.

Low to mid price range.

Thanks!

The Italian Kitchen is good and not far from Queen Street. There'sa Jamie's Italian at George square too but I'm not a fan. Probably not suited to a business meal either. Plenty of others too but none I'm a regular of. Think Smee had enjoyed Fratelli Sarti on Bothwell Street too.

Sarti as mentioned above are good - they have three branches within 5 mins of each other (not on Bothwell St though) - the Bath St one is probably more suitable for your low/mid price range vibe.

Zizzi in Royal Exchange Sq is pretty good for a chain.

Scott.

In the cheap to mid price.
Sarti Bath street is good, cheap but is genuine italian rather than looking cheap.
Soho (miller street) is cheap but more italian style food and 5pm culture than genuine italian feels a bit cheap though. Do get a chance to pass Agent Provocateur on the way though, interesting talking point.
To impress Amarone definitely more stylish a bit more expensive not too pricy though food is reasonable.
Barolo grill (Mitchell street) is better than Soho food, contemporary italian style like Amarone wider choice of food and does good value 2 or 3 course meals not sure how a la carte works out price wise as no one ever does it.

I quite like pizza express queen street as a chain, always have same bottle of red wine - barbera d'alba
For stylish and adult and good italian food I like italian cafe but definitely pricier as it is tapas, wines can make it very expensive and not on your route.

I'd go sarti for genuine or barolo grill for a bit more style (assuming a la carte does work out not to expensive OR you go fixed price)

Didn't want to mention Pizza Express or Zizzi as they're chains but both are OK. To be honest on a nice day like today, I'd probably choose sitting outside at Zizzi (it's in the back of what was borders books).

In the absence of our excellent local TripAdvisor efforts above, I'd have been at Pizza Express too :-)

Sarti is nice and I keep meaning to go back there as it's been a few years since I was last there.

You can't beat the quality and value at DiMaggio's (Royal Exchange Square) also same owner as Amerone, Barolo Grill and Café Andaluz, all of which I like. :thumbsup

Other than that Ian's recommendations look good. 8)

Another :thumbsup for Sartis and as for chains, there's a Prezzo on St Vincent Pl which is OK.

Sarti again. Poshest is the one nearest central station and the other 2 are joined together by a staircase between West regent Street and argyll Street.
La pulcinella is nice as well but I need to wander about for 30mins before I remember where it is.

Sarti right out in front. Also noticed, when processing our Amex bill, that Lisa has been there too. I'll have to ask her about it.

Sarti wins out. Fabulous meal, great service, authentically Italian. Will be back. Thanks to all who voted!
