Anyone able to recommend one?

Wife was involved in a RTA in Aberdeen this afternoon. She was stationary at the time and a van went ploughing into the back of a Honda Civic which then smashed into the back of her.

Police and Ambulance were called, she's okay, bit shaken up and the back of the car is damaged. Bumper f*cked boot dented but drive able.

Van driver admitted fault, big distribution company called Drummond so will be on their insurance.

As not at fault thought it easier to have a third party sort out the repair and sort me out with hire car etc - in their interest to fight my corner and reclaim expenses from van companies insurance.

Car's a BMW 330i M sport touring, value about 3.5k. My worry is potentially parts as it is an 2003 car and also value as they might write it off.

Thoughts?

Oh and the one week she took my car to Aberdeen not her own as Steven Bryce was meant to be valeting her car here in Dundee!

Dave, your Insurance company will sort all this out for you when you reported it to them, so as long as you have a hire car on your policy it should be delivered to you, then you wait for the Assessor to come along and make a decision about your car.

Used one back in 2005 (Helphire, iirc?)

Not normally a fan (they drive premiums up for all), but felt like I had little option - I was sat stationary at a T junction, exiting a garage forecourt. The garage parking was next to this junction, and a lady reversed back without looking, reverse T boning my car with her tow bar. Tore a hole in the NSR door...(!)

All I got was a mobile number (she was heavily pregnant and upset, so I wasn't making too much of a fuss), and noted her registration.

Stupid, I know, but hey ho.

Called the next day - Never got an answer. Tried persistently for a week, and eventually got a random stating that "she didn't own the phone anymore - She sold it to me!"

Hmmm. Her car was a banger, and she was a tad on the rough side. I should have envisaged this...

Police weren't interested. Garage CCTV company weren't interested. I'd hit a brick wall, till someone suggested an accident management company (I sure as hell wasn't claiming on my insurance policy!)

Helphire were great - They sussed out her insurers from her reg, made contact (she hadn't reported it), and started the claim. I got to choose where to take the car - Her insurers suggested Arnold Clark bodyshop - I suggested Audi Glasgow...

Got a courtesy car within a few days, and it was sorted (from my point of view) within 2-3 weeks.

There may be better companies now, but they certainly did the business for me 9 years back

I used Helphire about 10 years ago when a bus went along the side of my Subaru. They were good and no hassle at all. Only downside was I got a basic Vectra which isn't quite a direct replacement for a WRX but the women said a better chance of all costs being easily repaid if not seen to be maxing out on the hire car side.

No nothing about insurance, but hope Mrs Ragit is okay.

Hope for a speedy recovery. Albany assist sorted my no fault claim. I'm with admiral so don't know if they only do clients of them or not but were very good
