I wonder how they would cope with hard knocks - alloy bends, does carbon fibre not ultimately shatter? :?

Of course a lot is to do with the shape of the object and the way the carbon fibre has been woven vs. the casting techniques used for the alloy.

In principle I think the ultimate strength for carbon fibre vastly exceeds that of aluminium based alloys. So whilst you're right that a CF based wheel will probably never deform until such time as it fails catastrophically, the alloy wheel would have failed catastrophically at a lower force anyway.

Cheers,
Robin

Love to watch programs like that, especially from a small specialised company like Koenigsegg.
