Maldonado is a bloody liability.
Drove off the track on P1 at slow speed whilst fiddling with buttons, and just put it into the wall coming into the pit entrance on P2, and wrecked the front suspension.

Re: F1
Good to see Dan get his first win. Well deserved IMHO. What's more, he beat his "mighty" team mate,... again!
Real shame for Hamilton. But a long way to go yet. Impressive drive by Nico to nurse the car back.

Re: F1
I see both Perez and Chilton got a grid penalty for next race. I understood Chilton's penalty because, despite his assertion that it was deffo Bianci's fault, it clearly looked like his fault on the replay. Also largely irrelevant - 3 place penalty when you're on the back row is neither here nor there.
I don't understand Perez's penalty, though. The claim is that he changed line and thus caused a collision, but what little line change I could see in the replays was nothing much - maybe it's the speed and the angle that makes it hard to judge, but it seemed like not a lot to me (even though it did then cause a massive crash).
What am I missing?
Cheers,
Robin

Re: F1
Apparently telemetry showed Massa breaking 5m earlier than previous laps and Perez changing his line. I would have said there wasn't any move by Perez but various angled shots and team data all backs it up

Re: F1
I was surprised too. We knew Petez had a brake issue, so I'd assumed he'd simply caught Massa out with lifting earlier than expected.
But looking at the replays, especially the aerial view, backed the stewards' conclusions for me. The waters are muddied since the track kinks right just before the braking zone and normal line (obviously) is to follow that kink. Perez's 'move' was not completely following the kink - had the track been straight it would have been more immediately obvious IMHO.
He either did this due to his braking issues (wanting to lessen the kink perhaps), or simply to block - in (or just before) the braking zone.

Re: F1
Whilst you can clearly see Chiltons car getting out of shape and it looks like it drifts into Bianci's, if you look closely, you can see Bianci is also out of shape and was probably about to spin over the apex kerb if he hadnt collided with his team mate. I'm not saying it wasnt the right decision, but i can see why Chilton said it wasnt entirely his fault.robin wrote:I see both Perez and Chilton got a grid penalty for next race.
