I would laugh if they suddenly changed the rules on private number plates - e.g. you can have anything you want, or that all the funny 1/2/3 digit jobs are outlawed and you're issued an appropriate reg for your vehicle based on date of manufacture. Then his £6m would be 0.06p :-)

You would get to keep it. It would continue to be worth more than the car to which it is attached. :-)

The inference is that you think he's due some sort of comeuppance.

What has he done wrong?

He has made an investment in something that has no inherent value?

I see it more like he's bought something he wants and then declined an offer from someone to buy it from him.

Regardless though, I don't see how it being rendered valueless by a change in legislation could be reason for anyone to "laugh".

Further proof in the saying that there's only three things in life people find funny - sex, sh*t, and other people's misfortunes....

Smacks of bitterness really

That is a bit misleading but I assume it means you can carry out a normal plate transfer :?

I wonder how/ why Councils ended up with these plates in the first place, we hav G0 and VO on our chauffeur cars :thumbsup

Dundee Lord Provost has TS1 on a VW Phaeton, it's been the Lord Provost's number plate for years I reckon.

I still live in hope that we get a new Lord Provost who loves cult TV and demands a white Volvo P1800 for a nice and close replica...
