On Sunday there, I visited DriftLand at Lochgelly with 3 mates for the 2.5 hour 'Introduction to Drifting'. As expected, a bit of hanging around between turns, but overall a good morning and fun to do something a bit different and car related.
In the Nissan Skylines you get a number of attempts at some different skills after a demo of each then at end, 3 laps as a passenger in one of 3 pro drift cars. Having seen the end of the previous session I made sure I was in the BMW having seen the drivers skillz. Unbelievable. You are never going straight and the wheels never stop spinning.
By end of lap 1 the car is full of tyre smoke and it's like a thick fog at the end.
You are really encouraged to go for it. I was told I had too much mechanical sympathy by not dropping the clutch quick enough and it's a great feeling when you get a donut going with the front right tight against the cone and the instructor shouting 'keep going- more powaaaar' Clarkson style.
Like a lot of these things, you wish you had more time in the car, but all in, good fun
