bike helmet

Post by jimbo » Thu Mar 13, 2014 5:46 pm

Away to start cycling to work again, which I used to do years ago, but to be honest I've never worn a helmet...

I know naf all about helmets, so can someone recommend me a cheap one that wont make me look like a complete muppet

Thanks

I've just bought a new cycling lid.
Hate to tell you mate but they all make you look like a muppet, or worse!

I use one of these - muppet appearance or not, I don't want to take chances with safety

It's the most comfortable cycle helmet I have had.

Still,... did not stop me being knocked off my bike yesterday :blackeye

Heads are different shapes. Helmet makes are different shapes.

Find models that match your head, then worry about muppetry choices

Best to pay a visit to your LBS (local bike shop) and try on a range from different manufacturers. I bought a Giro quite recently at about £100 mainly because of the fit but I'd avoid scimping on such an important accessory :thumbsup

You'll look more of a muppet with you brains smeared over the road.
