I know nothing of the car outside of the eBay ad, but thought it may be of interest to someone on here.

Isn't it structural damage if the winscreen cracks there ?

Pretty sure that the windscreen can crack anywhere without it affecting the structure, I have had quite a few myself.

If it is only a small one and outside the laid down field of view it would not even affect the MOT, and can be drilled under your insurance FOC to prevent it spreading further.

Glass's Guide probably said it was worth £4,500
Or we buy any car ......
Two negatives make a positive but only in Scotland do two positives make a negative - 'Aye right.'

S2 Exige
BMW 435d M Sport - 375bhp..... and stops now (big brakes!😁)

Have you even had a quote from them?

I'd be surprised if WBAC would give more than a grand for an S1...
'16 MINI Cooper S - Family fun hatch
'98 Lotus Elise - Fun day car
'04 Maserati Coupe GT - Manual, v8, Italian...
'18 Mazda Mx5 - The wife's, so naturally my daily
'19 Ducati Monster 797 - Baby bike bike

I put in N3 TUT for a laugh, and they came back with £7.5K.
Would they know that it has a Honda conversion from the reg to quote that price? I put the Motability car in when it went back, 2013 Insignia Sports Tourer Elite with all the toys, £31K new, average on PH was £17.5K, WBAC £11.5K.

They can be useful, we sold Clare's Ford Ka to them as I had a pre MOT done with two months to go, loads of work needed to pass, plenty of rust, CHG on its way out and running on oil/petrol mix, knocked me down a bit from the Online price because of the rust, but they ended up buying a real donkey.

When i wrote off my 2006 exige a few years back, i put in details to we buy any car thinking i could use it as a bargaining chip with the insurance. How wrong was i ?
Wbac - £11500. Insurance company - £24,000
Admitedly, the insurance company mistook the 's' option for the supercharged model, but that still would have been £20,000.
When i sold my 2006 replacement two years later, same spec and lots more milage to a dealer, i still got £17500.
Before you ask, this was before they would have known it was damaged.
