Not sure what to make of this Graeme, I normally would not open a link that i was not sure of. i am actually running a Beta version of OS X 10.9.2, purely because Apple has not released it yet as a fix for the battery problems that occurred after the upgrade to Mavericks.

Judging by the Forums, myself and countless thousands of others found that the battery life that we used to have on a 2013 11" MBA dropped from 8 hours to two hours at the worse, three hours at best. The Beta has cured the problem along with a SMS reset, so I have kept it on until they release the upgrade.

On opening the link I got this message, so am not going any further until somebody like Robin checks it out. I read the info on the bug but it may as well have been in Urdu at that level.

I think apple have patched iphones and ipdas but don't think they have patched OS X

Bit of a massive blunder by some poor coder to put in an extra goto line in the code. This basically circumnavigated (sp?) the security.

OS X 10.9.2 update just released for download.

Just got IOS 7.0.6 downloaded for iPad,my hotmail' sheen playing up so maybe this'll sort it out(wishful thinking)

The code fragment provided shows :-

1. Apples coding standards are sh1te (better formatted code would make the problem much more obvious to the developer).
2. There is clearly no serious testing being performed (problem would be immediately apparent).
3. Apple clearly don't use any static code analysis as part of their build process (would have detected this immediately).
4. Apples developers and development processes are as crap as most other businesses (i.e. pretty amateur).

Just be thankful that they aren't doing anything important . . .
