I'm doing this for Maggie's Cancer Centres in May this year.

http://monster.maggiescentres.org/

It's along The Great Glen, 31 miles by bike then 41 miles walking - all in one go

I've got a Just Giving page if anyone would like to make a donation, anything at all is appreciated, see here http://www.justgiving.com/Kenny-Simpson1968

What I'm really after is some kind person to donate the use of a camper van / motorhome for the weekend.
Each team needs a support team and I think a motorhome would be ideal as the support team will be going for around 24 hours. We also need somewhere to sleep on the Friday night and after the challenge.

Cheers,

Kenny

Good luck with this Kenny.
A great cause.

ETA just realised that's my 1000th post - only taken me 7 years

Donation made.

Did this a couple of years ago. Camper van is definitely a good idea. Great for participants but also comfortable for your support team who will be doing a lot of waiting around between stages.

We hired a camper van from somewhere in Perth and were able to blag a reduced rate as it was for a charity event so worth looking into that option.

Don't give up. You'll be tempted when you stop at the silver finish and are facing the overnight stage into Inverness.

And best of luck to you :thumbsup

I've managed to hire an old T2 camper very like my own, got it for the weekend.

Pity mine won't be ready in time but as I'm forced to work on it outdoors and it's been hammering down with rain almost every weekend it's slow progress.
I did have the engine and box all built up at the weekend only to find that the wrong gearbox mounting bolts had been fitted to the adapter plate, so had to strip it all back again, clutch, flywheel etc

Anyways - training for the Monster Bike & Hike is going well, building up a bit of endurance now, should be able to make the whole course without permanent injury! :thumbsup
