I'm not remotely scared of heights, but bits of that made me feel odd

Caught the last ten minutes. Felt sick and had sweaty hands and, randomly, feet.
I'm not good with heights all mind you.
It was the "just dangle me off this bridge" bit that really got me. Just why?

Aye, and my missus took the opportunity to tell Calum our 12yr old that he'll not be doing stuff like that in ten years - I doubt it as he'll have a job

I've always enjoyed a bit of 'dangerous' sports but these guys are on a whole new level.
To have a mind that allows you to do things like that must be some buzz.

Seemed a great waste to me to scale a huge building or crane, dangle off it, and then climb back down. If you are going to do something as nuts as that you might as well go the whole hog and start base jumping. Compelling viewing though!

I had to watch that twice. Unbelievable.
I can see the point in not jumping off. A chute is a safety net. The hit from a flip on Moscow bridge v. Jumping from it with a chute? You decide where the bigger rush is. More convenient, fair enough.

Can remember chatting to a guy whilst working in SA that used to be a base jumper camera man. He eventually quit as he had lost too many friends as the stuff was getting too dangerous in the early days.
Must admit these shows make us look like a bunch of wimps.
However I must admire the guy with his attitude over altering his mind. As someone to walk over a plank of wood at 2 feet and its easy, ask them to do the same 100ft up and most people would bottle it. All a matter of mind perception.

Likewise, walk along a 200mm I-beam on the cellar deck (approx 50m above sea level) of an oil platform which is covered with kennedy grating, it's easy, then imagine the grating isn't there - would you do it?

Was sweating in places I didn't know you could sweat.
I fear it's only a matter of time someone will make an @rse of it in the Uk.
Mental!
