Very sad news

Shocked today to find out that Chris Groves (an infrequent poster on here as Grovit) tragically died in an accident at the weekend:

Chris was a lovely bloke, hadn't seen him in a while but would occasionally bump into him at the odd trackday. I first met him through the Type R Scotland forum - he used to organise runs which were always great fun. I'm sure a few people on here knew Chris as well, I think he may have been on one or more of the European tours.
R.I.P. Chris and Connor.

I read yesterday that a father and son had gone off the road and died in the river, but did not take notice of the names.
Chris had not posted much on here, but he was a friend of Corbies and did FF 2009 as a pax with him. Absolutely tragic happening and hard to take in. Kenny will remember him well as I joined in on two of their Civic Type R weekend runs many years ago when I met them both.

Hi folks
been lurking for years literally
Know a few folk such as Kenny, Ed, Mike, Donald and even had the pleasure of a most memorable TRS trip to Ulapool with tut a good few years back.
Apologies - I don't own a Loti at present and instead I own one of those nasty japanese 4wd things that drink fuel and have an uncharismatic sounding engine -
I thought I'd log on and say hi, as I'm paxing along on the French Frolics trip and will hopefully meet a few folk from here. Also, it's likely that I've bumped into a few SE folk on Ingliston sprint days, rolling road events, karting and so on over the years. So anyway, it's long overdue.
All the best

Very sad indeed. Similarly, I knew of the crash and a few facebook friends had posted about knowing him, but did not know he was a member here.
RIP - condolences to those remaining.

That has to be one of the worst pains I could think of for those left behind, incomprehensible, thoughts and prayers with the family RIP

Really sad, did FF with him and came home on the boat together, didn't know him too well but well enough for it to really mean something.
Condolences to the family, a tragic thing to happen.

Chris was a very close friend of mine who will be dearly missed along with his son Conner.
Still finding it hard to believe it is true tbh.
