Anyone into Horses........

Post by Noops » Tue Dec 24, 2013 1:37 am

Autumn seems this year to have taken a strange turn for me. I'm now learning to look after a pony and her daughter and enjoying it    . TBO Its all been for my granddaughter but I'm amazed how they have hooked up with me.. :?

I tease all at the stables that a bike /car is better and in return they tease me about trying to get me on a horse   , however I'm kinda getting what its about . Which worrys me :| However horses are bonkers , eat one end, sh*t the other and if your unlucky to between both it might kick you for fun...

I now have an amazing bond with a little six month pony called Red who follows me everywhere . Its amazing to think it might be alive at 30 years old or when I'm 87 :blackeye

Its brilliant to watch Ava now involved in looking after and riding her pony thanks to all at her stables :thumbsup

I was a jockey before I joined the Royal Marines.

Best ever result was runner up to Shergar in the '61 Derby.

Anyone into Horses........

I was lynor ( one of the 4 right hand men) and then cornet at the common ridings in Dumfries. It's basically a giant party that goes on for about a month.

I was asked 4 weeks before it all started and only joined up for the partying.... And because my mum said I would never learn to ride a horse in 3 1/2 weeks. I had never been on a horse before or showed any interest in horses.

It was a really good laugh and I really enjoyed the horse riding side of things. A gallop through a forest or even out in the open with a couple of hundred horses is a real buzz.

As long as you are not scared of falling off, you will pick it up in no time as you should have good balance from biking.

Give it a shot.
