Random...Gas Fire Fitment and Windows Sealed?

Hi,

I’m not sure if anyone here has a contact but I’m looking to get a gas fire fitted in Edinburgh; I previously had a gas fire which was pretty old fashioned so I had a replacement fireplace built about 5 years ago and got a new gas fire but the gas was never connected as the guy who was supposed to connect the gas had a series of health problems and never appeared…. Needless to say, I have been a little slack with pursuing this over the years and would now like to surprise my girlfriend and have a gas fire in time for Christmas. Problem is, I don’t have any contacts that could fit the gas; can any of you guys recommend someone who might be able to do this? – I think it’d be an easy gob as the old gas pipes are already in place under the new fireplace.
Another issue I have is with the putty around my windows which has cracked big style, again, do any of you guys have a contact that could possibly renew this? – Again I have no contacts in this area.
