Lawrence Hoy RIP

Post by ruadh08 » Mon Dec 09, 2013 9:19 am

For those of us who knew Lawrence, it was 6 years ago today he sadly passed away. Many happy memories, RIP.

I had a feeling it was round about this time - Many happy memories indeed, and still sadly missed.

Time spent with Lawrence was always time well spent - always incredibly free with his knowledge and experience. I value the memories of the Spanners and Sponges sessions at his place. A glass will be raised in his memory tonight.

It was Lawrence that pointed me in the direction of Club Lotus when I met him at Knockhill in the early 90s and later told me of SE1.

Lawrence Hoy RIP

Six years, it doesn't seem like it. He was my first contact with the Lotus and Elise scene in Scotland, many years ago through mutual mates involvement with Land Rovers.
I'll raise a glass to him tonight.

Always think of Lawrence when passing his house, seeing the van, or seeing a 7.

Such a kind chap and a pleasure to be around.

If you were to ask anybody on here, or probably anybody full stop, to name two people that they had never heard a bad word about, it would be Obi and Brian Jamieson, sadly both gone way before their time.

Coincidence that just last week I was in Edinburgh and spotted a Heatfactors van, with the Hoy logo...

Many a lengthy discussion about 7s, especially over numerous drinks one afternoon and evening in a hotel bar in Luton for the 7 club AGM - brilliantly in-depth chats were had :thumbsup

Indeed, RIP

Top guy, very helpful, but never gave you the answer, always let you work it out for yourself.

Can't believe it's been 6 yrs.

Rip.

That'll be Stewart Taylor who, many moons ago, was Lawrence's apprentice when I first met him.
