My niece has been conned by these low lives, google on them, reviews.

Sent her iPhone 4 in, valuation £130, last she heard. No answer on the phone or to her e-mails. Incredibly after all those complaints and it being obvious that they are con artists, they are still allowed to carry on trading.

Not a lot that I can do, but I have just got a valuation on my fictional iPhone, they send a post paid envelope, and I send them Clare's first Nokia from twelve years ago that we still have. It will cost them in postage both ways, and would be even better if they follow it up and contact me.

I can highly recommend http://www.money4machines.co.uk/ - top class customer service, kept me updated all of the way through, efficient and came out top of most of the Buy Back providers.

Have got rid of 2 x iPads 2 x iPhones and a couple of other grubby old phones and money has been in my account through bank transfer within the week once they have received them.

Tut, i realise this doesnt help you, but thought it worth posting.

I'd also recommend http://www.musicmagpie.co.uk/ having sold various unused Nintendo DS and PS2 games, no issues whatsoever :thumbsup

Can you not report the iPhone stolen..? Original paperwork might have the IMEI number on it?

Non-phone wise:
musicmagpie always seemed to offer very little when I looked, though higher value items indicated something that might well be worth the time / effort selling elsewhere (imo) though of course there is the convenience factor.

I've also used Amazons trade store for some games and books, always been reliable and offers ok prices.

For slightly more valuable bits, I use play.com, they don't charge until the item is sold (then they take a percentage) and you have to consider that you are paying for postage, plus the catalogue of items you can sell is fairly restrictive, but it's been much better than eBay for me!

Some of the sites are ok, but nothing beats a quick face-2-face deal

I sent my iphone 4 off to one of these sites after being offered £140 or so earlier in the year, I then received an email saying that because it had a cracked screen the offer was reduced to the amount for a damaged model (£30)
When I sent it it was in perfect condition and very well packaged etc so I asked for the phone back, as I intended to claim from Royal Mail.

I recieved the phone back a couple of days later and there was a hair line crack on the rear of the phone that wasn't there before. I bought a repair kit of ebay for 3 or 4 pounds and put a new rear screen on it.

I then took it into the local Cash Converter style place as I couldn't be bothered with the postage hassle's... Very easy place to deal with, and although I did feel a little 'scummy' for a short period, I walked out with £130.

Wish I had just went there in the first place and definitely where I'll go in the future :thumbsup
