Went to see it last night with Mrs FS at the IMAX in Glasgow in 3D.

Amazing experience, best thing I've seen in a long time. The big screen combined with the 3D really makes you feel like you're right there in the action. The first half hour was hard work at times, felt like I was going to fall out my seat a few times. Had to laugh at the guy next to me, he kept ducking to avoid the flying debris :D

The organisation in the IMAX isn't great, huge queues for food with only one person serving, the nachos were awful and it took far too long to get out of the car park. £25 for two adults is also pretty steep, but I'd do it again just for the big screen :thumbsup

Have they started allocating seats yet, or is it still a case of getting there early and scrumming in to get something that's not on top of the screen?

Allocated seats now Shug, you can pick your seats when you book.

Never been to an IMAX but £25 for 2 adults doesnt sound too bad considering it's about £10 for a regular ticket at the cinemas in Edinburgh - more for the VIP seats. Don't think I ever come away with change out £50 these days from a family trip by the time the ice creams and popcorn is bought.

'VIP' tickets at the braehead IMAX are more like £16 each.

The Glasgow science centre is actually the only proper IMAX in Scotland I believe. But their schedules are a bit crap and the braehead odeon IMAX is still pretty good.

At the current prices though.. Not something I do often!

I'd forgotten about the braehead one. Had looked at the science centre schedule.

Went to see it last Thursday, over here (in 3D) - Really enjoyed it, and thought Sandra Bullock carried the whole thing very well.

Definitely recommended, and well worth a look :thumbsup
