Depending on timing the City Centre could be a nightmare- Christmas Lights Switch On event in George Square from 1600-2000 ish.
All ticket event, 17,000 people in George Square and much of the centre closed off to get them in and out (some roads closed from 1000 in the morning).

Given the target audience it wont affect the pubs much, once your in them, but getting too them might be difficult

Beat me to it.

Plus Brel might have something on, Oran Mor probably wont but is the right sort of age range.

Looks like you are sorted, avoiding city centre may be good.
For my 'not so young' drinking

Beer cafe merchant city (cafe style but tons of bottles beers and lots on draught, jazz on Thursday nights seemingly)
Babbitty Bowster Scottishness pub
Bar91 doesn't look special but just like it for a beer, chat and can get bar food
Finniestoun Argyle street more a restaurant with bar (gin specialist!) but was there recently enjoyed a few pints so much so I missed last train home.

No music but upstairs at the chip? Usually have coal fire on this time of year.
