I could try to be helpful, or just post a picture of an explosion. Your call.

Spoil sport.

OK 7k. What would you buy. (Realising even as I write this that I'm going to fix the Xsara).

Had a 225 with cup pack. Covered distance pretty well... cooked it's brakes around KH too quickly, but they were up to fast road driving OK.
Inner CV joint went on mine, and also used to get the engine emission light coming on when stationary for too long.
It was a capable car, and good fun to drive when pushing on..... but it was a 'slit your wrist' boring place to sit when you were just pottering along.

I had the 225 F1, a limited edition run in yowza bright blue, that had the Cup Chassis. I did a mix of driving including commuting to work (60 mile roundtrip on M8) and thought it was an excellent all rounder :thumbsup OK maybe not as interesting as some exotica out there but plenty fast enough, reasonable economy and I thought quite a nice place to be, even when pottering along.

Thanks gents very helpful. (Although it would have been easier if you'd said they were rubbish)

The son of a mate from work I suspect. I just spent the day with him messing about in rally cars, but that's another story. He's had his for about a year, no issues from what i've heard, but don't know how many miles he'd done in it. I'll see if he has any comments.
