Hi-Torq,Enfield

Post by highlander » Sat Oct 26, 2013 12:26 pm

Still sniffing around for a replacement car, anybody have any feedback on the above company....not much on the net and have no website, which I find odd in this day and age.
Car that's caught my attention is the 2006 Elise 111R,some kind of limited edition it seems.Opinions & feedback welcomed..pricing,etc,etc
Can't really be arsed going to London at the moment but quickly looked at transporters and too expensive on a trailer and don't fancy some random driving my "new" pride & joy up the motorway, like to think I have some mechanical sympathy!!
Thanks in advance for all input

I met him about 5 years back when I tried to sell him a broken S1 Exige, can't remember his name, asian guy. He was pretty straight up, and gave me a lift back into central London in a Noble which was nice of him. He has been going a while.

I can go take a look if you are thinking about buying it.

Just off the phone to the guy,it's a possibility but no history as such just stamped service book...B&C and an independent Lotus specialist. He reckons the tyres will need replaced within 5K.
If it's not too much hassle then could you take a look JJ and give me some feedback on both car and dealer for future ref.
He couldn't tell me anything about condition of wishbones, dampers, brakes, etc so I would be looking at underside if possible. Was told stone chipping was minimal, interior was good, heater blower worked OK,toolkit and manuals all present,2 sets of keys& alarm fobs.soft-top good although might need cleaned as a minimum as might be a little green...assuming this is from tree sap or the like and might respond to cleaning...not the end of the world, just inconvenient.
Thanks in advance
Jim

Dont know about Hi-Torq but 2006 was when the Sports Racer was about.
Either blue or red with white stripes, had a few minor extras like forged alloys and there were some performance/handling goodies as well but nothing extra power wise, so will be pretty obvious if it is a Sports Racer.
I don't think they command any premium of other models same year maybe more popular due to the extras

Not really that fussed for the track oriented spec as for road use but if it's not for me then might make it easier to move on.It's only had 1 owner so I'm confident it's OK,has clear HPI also.
Listed on Pistonheads if you want to check the ad out, mileage a little high for a Lotus but not excessive.
Thanks for feedback so far.

Giving up on the car hunt for this year as anything of interest is well into Englandshire and can't manage the trip at the moment and because it'd be a storage job anyway at this time of year I'm lacking a bit of enthusiasm.....roll on the spring :D
Plan is to be behind the wheel of an Elise on May 1st 2014,bit later than I'd like but insurance policy change-over is end of April so saves a bit of paperwork.Hoping to have the car March/April though so all set for summer......camping in May??

Can understand why you are delaying purchase but you may well find the prices go north around the time you are buying. If you can pick one up now it is likely to be at its lowest price point.
I have never checked this or had experience of it with cars but the consensus would be that prices are to an extent seasonal. I have had experience of it happening with motorbikes, absolutely zero deals when trying to buy new in March, an immediate £300 discount in September on top of around £500 of manufacturer incentives.
