Re: iPhone 5S - You Need it in your Life (NLC)
Changes seem to be fingerprint scanner (nothing new) and the new processor.lots of duff about power but battery life remains the same.
IPhone 6 should be out next year and there is alot of catching upto do as the android/chrome/ windows phones are already ahead.

First phone with a 64bit processor.
I like the finger print scanner, putting the pin number in my phone everytime I want to use it is a PITA.
Other than that, it's all a bit dissapointing.

64bit cpu is a geek factor which to me misses the point as it's not Android (the geek factor phone OS)flyingscot68 wrote:First phone with a 64bit processor.

Finger print scanner might seem like a good idea but I can see more problems than solutions.
I have no issues with the Android 'draw a shape between points' unlock mechanism, whilst Erica for example would have issues using my iPhone with my finger print logged..
Off come the gloves in winter to unlock your phone.
Thieves having to physically force people to unlock their phones when stealing them.
Stories about insecure husbands trying to unlock their wife's phone at night without waking her leading to broken fingers.
Far fetched ideas on what might happen being posted on forums all over the internet.
You heard it here first

And since when did being the best seller make something the best?

When the iphone came out it was way better than anything that came before it. Since then they have done nothing interesting In 2011 motorola did the fingerprint thing. My sister's sony is waterproof and my phone has wireless charging and interchangable plastic covers. Got an email from Nokia pushing a phone with a 41mp camera, Sony are doing interchangable lenses.
Bloke at work has ordered one but he has a couple of ipads, imac, apple tv and airplay and it all works amazingly well (other than he's always popping into the genius bar because everything that isn't an apple product he has problems with)

Who said it was the best? There will never be agreement on what's best as everyone has different wants and needs.rossybee wrote:And since when did being the best seller make something the best?
Best selling smart phone for sure.
It just amazes me that when Apple launch a new phone there's this big world wide slagging off match that happens, picking holes in anything they can.
Unless I've missed something, this doesn't happen to Samsung, HTC, Sony etc.
I just find most of it puerile.
Re: iPhone 5S - You Need it in your Life (NLC)
I think the high end smartphone market has reached saturation for now, though a booming global economy would soon change that - in the meanwhile, the real star of Apple's 5 range is the 5Cheap.
I don't know enough about their architecture to be sure, but would hazard a guess that the 5C contains at least the innards of the 4S - so plenty good for 95% of the world's needs and on paper it looks very good value if the figures I've seen are to be believed. Only a fcuk would buy the 5S at nearly 10x the price of the 5C.
Now all we need is for Stu to crank up his mills to make iPhone5-like cases to transplant your 5C into ... job done
Cheers,
Robin

When Apple launch a new product it makes the news, therefore is discussed. And fanbois defend them (not accusing you of that). Other electronic companies just don't have the marketing might.flyingscot68 wrote:Who said it was the best? Re: iPhone 5S - You Need it in your Life (NLC)
Biggest problem I can see with the 5C is it's not cheap. A 16gb is only £80 less than a 5S - makes no sense to me at all.robin wrote:I think the high end smartphone market has reached saturation for now, though a booming global economy would soon change that - in the meanwhile, the real star of Apple's 5 range is the 5Cheap.

5C 16gb = £469
5S 16gb = £549
Just got that off the Apple site - mental.
