Clean S1 at a keen price?

Post by rossybee » Sun Jul 28, 2013 10:15 am

Just stumbled upon this - looks honest enough and very tidy.

Heads up for anyone looking for a nice standard S1 :thumbsup

Nice car.

Best colour, five spoke wheels and MMC brakes, original, lightest, and best configuration.

I've got my dad going to have a look at if for after he knocks off work. Can't go myself as i'm out the country. It would be nice to get a SE'r opinion onthe the car to :thumbsup

Quite fancy having a standard one to go along with the honda'd one. It might also spark my interest in getting the honda conversion finished off. Haven't driven an Elise since Frolic 2009 so I think I've forgotten what i'm missing out on :(

I bet Ian would be interested in that together with Corbie's engine.

That would make a new N1 TUT with a better engine and more power.

Possibly mate, think Im gonna sell mine to put money into my house. Ive driven it around 15 times this year, cant justify having that sort of car just sitting. Its awseome, very quick, docile (in terms pf power delivery) and a lot of fun just not comfortable/pratical enough. I genuinely believe the Audi is the best engine Ive had yet, just takes everything in its stride, most likely the torque talking though. 8 years ago this would have been an ideal car but with kids I dont have the time to use it. Its in the body shop just finnishing the roof and then getting painted. Once I get it back I can look at putting it up for sale.

Realistically I need a car thats good for work as this is the single oppurtunity I have to enjoy it. I have spent the last 2 months looking at loads of things and everytime its an S1 that does it for me, only thing Id like is a little more power maybe 160-180.

I did have a quick look at the car today and sems genuine enough, maybe had a little work but the chassis seems fine with no welding or damage to the subframe. Little bit of wear to seat and sill pad but thats it.
