New Traffic law

Post by point n squirt » Wed Jun 05, 2013 11:22 pm

I see we are now to be stopped and instantly fined for hogging the middle lane and also tailgating so whats the thoughts. I have to admit i use the middle lane most of the time only as i cant be bothered pulling in and out of the inside lane to overtake every few hundred yards, if its empty i will use it ,surly its more dangerous weaving in and out of lanes. I usually sit at 70ish mph in middle lane as inside lane traffic is normally slower i use the outside lane for overtaking then pull back in and i always check my mirrors so do i fall into a mid lane hogger or is it meant to be more aimed at pensioners sitting in a volvo at 45mph :D

If it got more traffic cops out on the road, it would be a good thing (hear me out)
Traffic cops can use their discretion, but most have been replaced by cameras, so bad driving has increased greatly as the cameras only detect speed, not bad lane changing, tailgating, brake testing etc.
Once this is in, and 'decriminalised' it's only a matter of time before it's the people sitting in the camera offices who are dishing out fines and then we'll probably have even less traffic cops, and more jobsworths controlling the road (possibly by people who have never even held a licence)
