Posting Pictures

Post by C7Steve » Sat Apr 20, 2013 2:08 pm

How do I post pictures on to here?

I have read this in FAQ.
Can I post images?
Yes, images can be shown in your posts. If the administrator has allowed attachments, you may be able to upload the image to the board. Otherwise, you must link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server, e.g. http://www.example.com/my-picture.gif. You cannot link to pictures stored on your own PC (unless it is a publicly accessible server) nor images stored behind authentication mechanisms, e.g. hotmail or yahoo mailboxes, password protected sites, etc. To display the image use the BBCode [img] tag.

I have tried to insert them in between here , [img] [img] also tried to copy and paste, but with no success??????

What am I doing wrong, or missing?

Signed up to Flickr to load some pictures on their and managed to put one across, and include it into the Scottish Elise's group.

I only want to post up some pics after maybe a run, so what's the easiest way to do it?

1. Looking to post straight on to here from my iPhone when out and about.

2. Will also be wanting to select pictures from my digital SLR camera on the computer and transfer them to here for maybe the Calendar pictures.

3. And lastly to transfer pictures from my Flickr account straight to here.

Can someone point me in the correct direction please?

Steve.

You need to use:

Code: Select all

[img]http://whatever.com/somewhere/picture.jpg[/img]

Note the closing tag has a forward slash before the img word.
For example:

Code: Select all

[img]http://db.tt/PtlKnsfO[/img]
Produces this:

Once you have the pictures in your flickr account you should be able to get a "share this picture" link of some sort - often there are options for sharing to faceplant and twatter, but you want the "forum" or "bulletin board" link. I don't use Flickr so cannot say exactly what it is.

If I were you, I would use Dropbox ... you can simply store the files on your laptop/PC and they are automatically uploaded to t'internet. If you put stuff in your Public folder on Dropbox you can then select the file on your PC, right mouse button, Dropbox->, get public link and you'll have a link ready to paste straight into the forum as above.

Cheers,
Robin

Yes, I run the MEMS3 on Egor in place of the Lotus ECU - really I was trying to get the MEMS3 VVC ECU to work on the S2 VVC, but there is some weird issue that I cannot get to the bottom of :-(
