Well, like Campbell, 2012 saw me hand in my notice after 7 years working for a small start up and watching it grow and be acquired by GFI Software, had a good few years of corporate life enjoying myself (whilst continuing to work hard, honest guv!) just with a larger expense account and a bigger gut and farked liver to show for it!

Anyway, have started another software company, which will ultimately venture in many directions, but this time for myself, and our first product out the door is a Productivity app called 'allthings.io'.

In simple terms it is a really easy to use task manager, list sharing app, simple project management tool. All 'cloud' based, and FREE for home users.

It's best used on a web browser (works okay on a iPad but not 100% functionality) at the moment, but the dev team have started on native apps for all mobile devices, so come May we should have it multi-platform.

I have to say, (okay i would!) but i was never the most organised of people before, doing what i was moaned at most to do first, but this has really changed the way i get all my stuff done.

We've only been up and running officially since end of March, and already we have well over 400 users and as people share lists with clients, family, friends, that number just keeps growing. We've done no real PR so this is just organic in the last month or so. No-one is paying for it, as we don't really have any professional features yet, and just looking to get people onboard for free, use it and let us know what you think of it, good or bad!

Anyway, i hope you'll have a look at it and sign up for free, useful for both home and work and we've already got a lot of people sharing it at work as the key benefit is to be able to share lists, assign tasks to people, set deadlines all whilst keeping everything in one centralised place and reducing the amount of e-mail comms that fly about making it hard to follow who said what, when!

You can sign up for a free account here:- http://www.allthings.io

All feedback welcome!

Many thanks,

Dave

Great idea!

Best of luck with the venture! :thumbsup

Being your own boss is very rewarding - sometimes a bit stressful, but well worth it.

:thumbsup All the best

Im all over the place with my team - I have staff based in inverness and newcastle and I only get the chance to see them face to face once every 2 weeks generally. I often send random emails as things come into my head asking them to do stuff, but often forget what I've asked them!
Funnily enough, I have signed up to this, but its on my to do list to see if it could help me track the shared to do lists!

On another note, I was looking for your website the other day as it wasnt saved as a bookmark and it was a complete pain in the @rse trying to find it on google - I knew it was called allthings but couldnt remember the .io bit... google struggled to find it. Not sure what you can do to sort that?

Internet Optimization - there a few tricks to help with that - or give lots of money to an IO company. I'm sure Dave and the team are on the case. :thumbsup

Thanks Dom, have my old mans accountancy firm starting to use it amongst the partners, but i thought it would be helpful to have a folder for each client and lists within those folders. Perhaps a shared list with your client helping you better communicate and ask for things like receipts, invoices etc but anyway....

Ross, I saw you had signed up, hopefully you'll give it a go with your team - exactly what it's designed for! I totally agree though the website has had no SEO done to it, but it is next on my to-do list, trying to leave the website alone for a bit now it is functioning as it took up two weeks of my life! (I know looking at it you wouldn't think so!) Anyway, I know it needs done and will turn my attention to it shortly!

allthings.com is owned by a guy in Japan, he's asking for $65,000 for it! I bid him $250 and he came back with his ridiculous counter...

allthings.io worked for us as in 'All things I owe' and also IO being Input/Ouput which is also what the system is designed to do!

Appreciate all feedback though!!

Dave

you'll also see i signed up again after sending the above post... I forgot my password and I couldnt see how to reset it when it told me my entered one was wrong  - although I then realised its on the main login... probably worth putting the 'forgotten password' link on that prompt as well for numpties like me... :cheers

No worries, i realise there is a small investment of time, but it is fairly easy to get up and running. Have a quick read of all the Getting Started items and you should be flying, in terms of what you need to get going!

I've been having a play with it this afternoon. Really nicely implemented app, both with my user hat on and my developer hat on. Well worth having a look at!

Thank you mate, and your feedback has kept myself and the developers busy in discussion all afternoon. I have 40+ feedback e-mails to wade through this evening, but on the whole all very positive and constructive :D

Thanks,

Dave

Just a quick heads up as a good few SE'ers now using it to keep themselves organised at work and home!

We're at the final stages of developing the mobile app for tablets and phones and looking for some users to try out the mobile app, before we push it to the different app stores for v1 release.

Anyway, if you are keen then let me know and i'll fire over the details for accessing it....

Many thanks,

Dave

Up for that Mr Hay. Tried to look at it when in Canada last week but it seemed a touch sluggish from there bizarrely?
