Falkland or DJB motorsport for a service?

Post by jj » Sat Sep 10, 2005 2:32 pm

I need to think now about next months C service - its done 37k miles and I think this is the one thats due.

I am not sure though what work has been done when the car was bought from a dealer in February 05.

The book isnt stamped since last summer but Im not sure what they may have done prior to selling the car, as I bought it in April 05.

Who's going to be the best out the two? Im sure I read DJB is a SE'er, I want honesty and good price!

Do you mean DB Motorsport in West Calder ?

If so, its a not brainer, Brunty is a SE'er, a good grease monkey and a damm nice bloke.

Just did an oil and filter change on my VX and has done brakes for me in the past. Highly recommended :D

Yeah, think it must be - I followed http://www.dbmotorsport.co.uk but then on that page it has DJB.

Sounds good so far.

I know he looks after a few of the SE guys - give him a bell

Used Dave for a replacement wheel bearing, well chuffed.

Make sure you call first.
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

Looks like DJB it is then. Will call for price for C service as belt hasn't been changed so I think I`ll get it done to be safe. Falkland wanted 400 and that was excluding filter so will report back for any other folk in same situation.

£400 isn't actually *too* shabby... It's the big service after all, MMC will charge you four figures!

Still, Brunty's a good bloke and definately knows one end of a spanner from t'other! 8)

The email I got back from Falkland was along the lines of...... "...it`ll be from about 400 I think from last time we did one..."

Anyway, I spoke to DJB today and its going in in a fortnight to get whatever needs done, done.

And MMC will never, ever, get the chance to charge me four figures for a service. ever.
