..because my Sherco seems to have 5 reverse gears

and is kicking-back like a good'un. New stator ordered. I have heard of engines running backwards when the woodruff key shears/stator plays up but never thought they would actually go in reverse

Have you managed to get it up to fifth yet?

Back in the day..I remember my Bultaco 2 stroke trials would sometimes run in reverse..you didn't know till you let the clutch out

Nerd Fact
Large engines on ship are designed to run in either direction
Landrover 90 = Muddy shed spec
Fiat panda = Couldn't care less spec
Landrover ?? = Muddy shrek spec
Unimog 404S = Very slow silly offroader spec
Kubota F1900 = Snowplough spec
