Perfect, spec, great colour combination, and low mileage = seriously tempted.

Combine that with a MRC stage 2 remap

at about £1400 for 500bhp and you are looking at something that could destroy my E63!

I checked them out the other week when Harris said he got one for £15k, unfortunately there were none in the classifieds at that price ! It's definitely on the list of cars to own.

Rossy is correct. Indeed I sat in Kerry's very S4 a couple of weeks ago. Lovely place to be.

A work colleague gave us first refusal on his a year ago but we concluded it's also a £40k car to run so chickened out.

It's still on my "one day" list though. A short way below an RS4 >8-)

What have I missed.

saloons are always a bit cheaper, and low spec models are similar, hence there can be a big apparent price range.

You're a day late for me sanj :x

Pretty impressive results. Myou'll never be able to shift it on after the work has been done though. Factor that in to yr depreciation man maths and it probably aint that great value

Ok seen it, Revo have spent a lot of time on this map, 444bhp. Although the reason I bought an S4 was because it wasn't an RS4 ie it supposed to be the practical car in the fleet. So not my cup of tea. The Revo map would be easilly removed, or switched, I suspect an audi garage may be able to tell, but probably not your more average buyer. S4's seem to have remained relatively rare, so values have remained reasonable. There can be massive price differences for apparently similar cars dependent upon spec. I've never seen such a poor unwashed example as the Harris motor - family deal so not really a representative price, but you can see why it was cheap.

333bhp is supposed to be the min in the original spec, plenty torque for most purposes. I think you'd be chewing tyres at a horrific rate if deploying much more than that. The stronic DSG is what really makes the difference, acceleration is continuous. adjustable diff and suspension give pretty good handling in dynamic mode.

If they ever put the 3.0 biturbo diesel in the A4, that would be my choice for practical rapid motoring.
