FW was runner up in the Carbuncle poll recently, ie the worst place to live in or look at in Scotland.

Thought that was a bit rough.

Getting in quickly before anyone else gives the slightly misguided answer; New Cumnock.

Not Cumnock, but it's similarly named satellite 6 miles yonder. It makes Ft William seem a paradise.

ETA: Ed & Tom's mum has a place in Strontian does she not?

New Cumnock is a dump all the coal mines have shut to be honest they would be better off leveling it, same with Newmilns which came 3rd.

You could probably name a thousand crappy scottish towns and villages that reek of economic deprevation or disasterous post war and 70's town planning.

Yeah that's right, had 30 firemen fighting the fire in Strontian across the valley from her house. Nearly burnt down the new school.... We have friends in Banavie who had firefighters in their garden spraying water to stop the fire getting to their house. Scary stuff!
