I recently had a post about a Nissan 370z Convertible that my girlfriend was considering buying, she couldn't quite come to an agreement on price with the guys selling it, partly because she wasn't completely convinced that it was the car for her.
Her focus has now moved onto a BMW 635D, we test drove a 2009, 21,000 mile car at a BMW dealer yesterday in perfect condition. We both really liked the car but I was curious as to what you guys thought on a few things since I found you guys had some really good info regarding the 370z we looked at.
Firstly, what do you think of the 635d?
Secondly, What do you think the car is worth?
Thirdly, I don't usually buy cars from a franchised dealer; how much will they generally move on the asking price (It's only just come into stock) and are they more likely to move further on price since we have no trade in and require no finance?

Let me know what you think, cheers,

G

I think the 635d is an awesome bit of kit. Definitely not a sports car but a thumpingly fast, refined and comfortable GT. The big problem with the 635d for me its the 335d, which is quicker still, more roomy inside, especially in the back, and more practical due to the folding rear seats, and will be cheaper to buy and run. The 635 would be a really lovely daily drive, but I can't think of a good reason to buy one over a 335d.

A striking looking grand tourer .
Check the Bmw forums for the chat around these cars.
Suspension seems very firm especially on large wheels
There have been a few recalls but should not be an issue if its been a dealer serviced car

2009 - with 15k miles - Glass's have it at £29075

I would go with CAP who are more brutal at £24k (The recent auction prices have seen them fetching £3k behind book prices)

Depreciation is a biggy..........and a 2009 will still stand to lose around £12k over the next two years

I like them............but they have to be bought judiciously

:cheers

I have a 2012 640D and it is fantastic, it can effortlessley waft down a motorway or actually be pretty entertaining on a quiet road. 310Hp - 40 lb/ft of torque and yet it can easily get 40+ MPG.

That is with the 8 speed gearbox though. I think the 09 car may have the 6speed box which is not quite as good on juce. The 8 speed box is a really amazing bit of kit. I thought it was a DCT when I drove it at 1st. 8 gears gets a bit confusing if you decide to take the car somewhere like the Snetterton 300 for some sighting laps :D

belter of an engine and prices seem to be coming down a bit.

There is a x-demo M6 at Peter Vardy for a mere £74k??? :D
