I got a new PC about 6 months ago and I havent actually done anything yet about moving all the music to the new one.
I did try it about a month ago, but there wasnt enough memory left in the old pc to copy it to a file - so I gave up.
anyway, I got my new iphone 5 (32GB) so, loads of memory
I sync'd the new iphone to the old PC & copied all the music onto that. (10GB's worth)
I've now re-booted up the new PC, opened up itunes.
Is it possible to download the music from the phone onto itunes ?
help......
David

I did something similar & cant remember how

Though originally I had lost all the music I had loaded from cd's but copied them across eventually.
IIRC I had to sync devices through homesharing on I-tunes

cheers!
I've had to buy a program called Touchcopy. The demo version only transfers 100 songs, then u need to buy it at £21
I tried downloading off of kickasstorrents, but all the versions were just demos.

I'm in the similar position, my iTunes library is on a steam powered laptop but I'd like it on my most recent lap top. Due to my utter hatred of iTunes I haven't tried to do this yet as I know they will have made it super difficult.
Was hoping it could be as simple as copying the music folder from one computer onto an external hard disk, then transferring it onto the next computer. Then pointing iTunes to the new folder and sync'ing the ipod? Tell me why I'm wrong
ETA: For clarity, the music is all ripped from CD's - none of it is downloaded.

Homes sharing on i-tunes should allow you to copy across from one machine to another.

I'm no expert on iTunes but seem to remember doing this by exporting my existing library as big playlists, then importing them into the new computer. Play list sizes are limited so you need a few, but pretty sure that's what I did last time.

I copied about 8gig worth of music from my ipod to my new pc the other week. It came across in folders F00 up to F49. The contents of each folder are a completely random collection of songs so not album by album however when I copied them back to i-tunes it was able to re-assemble them.
