Engine Options for the Shed...
Engine Options for the Shed...
Rather than hijack Andy's thread... Thought I'd better start my own!
Need to figure out this weekend (self imposed deadline) what I'm going to do with my shed.
It's sitting at Murray's with the head off at the moment. To get the head back to useable will be a couple of hundred approx.. Wondering what else I (i.e. sabreheads) could do it it whilst its off though to make it extra awesome if I decide to fix it just now, or whether I should just buy another head or.... Etc
Bottom end has a broken piston so if I want to re-use it.... I'll need some bits. Pistons and stuff.
So I could buy all the bits for the unit I've got from eliseparts/ebay type places and go that route... Or I could buy some bits from folks on here and put them together ...or I could just buy a full engine, drop it in and rebuild mine later... Or sell my bits etc....
Totally lost on the best way forward and keep changing my mind. So would be interested to hear the opinions on here and see what bits people might have that could work etc. After all.. me asking for suggestions on SE never goes wrong now does it!!!!!
It'll be 10 years since I bought the shed in June.. So want to do this properly and get it back to being awesome again. Obviously i want more powwwwwerrrrrrrrr.
Also have some ideas involving blue tweed ... More on that later though....
Thoughts?!?!
Dave.

Re: Engine Options for the Shed...
I think the best idea is to buy bits off of 'folks from on here'.

On 90k I'd want to rebuild that before putting it in anything tbh. Better vfm MG's out there, ESP considering other parts to be sold.les wrote:£300 gets you this http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-moto ... 1006808917
Plus, it's down on the power Dave has.
Re: Engine Options for the Shed...
Honda is the best option.
But the sensible answer is to put a standard back together as cheaply as possible, then sell the shed. You will never use it
