Garage Doors

Post by PartTimer » Sun Jan 13, 2013 10:48 pm

I am looking for some advice on garage doors, preferably metal rollers. I need to buy and install 6 in Inverness. Any recommendations for brands and/or installers.

Many thanks, PT

I converted the outside classroom into a four car garage a few years ago Graham and went for the Gliderol roller doors from here.

Great service and support, had no problems at all, and had them installed by my village handyman. Probably plenty of others, but these were the best value by far from a reputable company.

If you need a fitter, a friend of mine used to work for Powerdoors but is now self employed

Thread resurrection!!

I may be in the market for a pair of powered sectional garage doors as I don't think I have headroom for roller doors.

I'll look in to the attached contacts but any new recommendations?

Also, anyone fitted garage doors themselves or is it a job for experienced hands?

Disco Dave in Dundee is a good option Chris :thumbsup

He does power doors and gates and is very reasonable, based in the Ferry

I can get his details if you wish :D

Oddly was just about to ask the same question. I couldn't remember the name of the doors you had all recommended before. However I was just about to order a gliderol door when my mate (who was helping me to move the water pump etc away from where the garage entrance will be cut) said his neighbour in Methlick ordered one but the wind pushed it in and it buckled, they had a real fight to get it replaced and he has to strap a gate behind the door to prevent the problem reoccurring. So should I still go for a gliderol? Reports here all seem favourable

Had a few gales on ours Andrew with no problems.

The actual fitting of it would come into the equation.
