Hi guys,

Had a call from 'vodaphone' last week offering me a better deal on my 2 contracts. Seemed pretty good, nothing sounded dodgy, guy even explicitly told me when he was recording bits.

Then today I got new contracts through, but they had a covering letter from Premier Telecom, who seem to be an agent/reseller.

I don't recall that from the phone call, but maybe I wasn't paying attention.

It saves me a fair bit of money, but are they dodgy?

IF they claimed to be from 'vodaphone' and are actually from somewhere else then I think you already have your answer ... any company that is not upfront about their relationship with your current supplier are crooks.

Are you near the end of your contract?

I suspect the operators have a deal with a tame reseller and give them your details. They can say they are 'calling from Vodaphone' because that's who gave them your details. It's cheaper for Vodaphone to retain an existing customer than it is to get a new one. It also pre-empts you going out and seeing what else is available in the market.

The website for Premier Telecom shows them as Vodaphone Platinum Partner of the Year 2011 & 2012.
