Who killed Steve Irwin? I heard it was either Sting, or Ray Charles.

Apparently it was Crocodile Dundee in a fancy Ray dress, seems he was jealous of all the publicity and money that Irwin was getting, instead of him.

Very true - but a fcuking idiot to take the risks he did (despite what he claimed) with a wife & 2 kids.

All IMHO.

I thought he choked on a croc-burger

Seriously, I remember being shocked & thinking "what a dick" when he dangled his own baby over a crocodile...

Sad all the same tho' :(

He does appreciate it nailed to a fence or hanging from the barbed wire...

No point doing your self out of a job eh?

Only jesting, my brother went down the estate management route a while ago and changed quite a fet of his views on conservation.

He's a bricky now....

True, but then it's not like a croc ate him. Sounds like a freak scuba diving accident (unless that is, he was poking it with a stick, to see what the little critter would do...).

Shame though. He was quite a character (allbeit a bit of a loon, and a bit contrived, but hey ho, he made daytime TV a bit more interesting...)

He was filming at the time - so probably a safe bet that he was twatting about with it... Although I hear he's only the second person to ever have been killed by a stingray - freak circumstance, as the barb pierced his heart - the venom itself isn't fatal.

I'm not saying the chap deserved it or anything (of course) and he did do a lot to promote the conservation cause. It just irked me how he used the sensationalist angle to do it, which was frankly, dangerous...

Still, any publicity for a cause is good publicity - shame for his family that he paid that big a price for fame.... :(
