Hey chaps
So later on tonight, I set of for a 24 hour 1000 mile roadtrip to collect my new Atom from the factory.
It a trip of vintage SE madness, with a bit of "Team Still Game" thrown in as I have a tow car
I'll keep you posted on progress, but I should be back with it tomorrow night.
Taking the Rangie so I can have a sleep if required, work if required, and after picking the last one up and driving 450 miles in the pouring rain in my ski gear, i thought I'd tow!
Crewkerne Sommerset is the destination, 430 miles south.
Thursday morning run car in.
Thursday afternoon, cars get post run-in service.
Thursday afternoon later, tow the bitch home!
House purchasing fiasco continues so this is a bit last minute, but to remind myself why I'm doing this, I found this old video of my first ever trip to the Ring on my Youtube account from 2007.
Chasing a ring taxi, after going out after a GT3 RS, GT2 & Murcie!

Roll on October (ring & spa trip

)
Wish me luck

Sounds like another "Gordon Epic" in the making. Looking forward to the updates, and pictures of course.

Bet Sabine was pissed off getting stuck behind that line of cars.
Good luck with the trip Andy, still not seen the spec of the car, N/A or S/C?

SC mate - never did get round to SC-ing the last one, so decided to go for it on this one.
Should be pretty entertaining and wait till you hear the whine from it

Good stuff!
Glad you went for the 300. I remember thinking the 245 was a bit tame and slow.

So this will be your second one.
Wait for it.
(I apologise in advance)
If you still had the first one, would that make your garage a molecule?
(2 Atoms in a molecule. Sorry. You were warned.)

Well done on the car choice
Surprised that you have poofed out and not taken the cheap flight/drive the fokker home route?
Would have made for an interesting post driving through SW holidaymakers/monsoons/ and eventually to what is left of the road surface on the M74

Very clever pete, but you should have waited for replies before you explained it, so that we could see who the thickies are.

Sounds like an epic journey. I did something similar last month. Track day at Silverstone on Thursday 26th and funeral in Inverness on Saturday 28th so decided to join the dots by driving north in the atom, via Newcastle and Edinburgh. Sadly no trailer was available (and I didn't actually turn up at the funeral in the atom, which just didn't seem right).
Since then, the atom has been up to Thurso and John O Groats (what a national disgrace that is) with a possibility of Applecross in early September. Then driving back down to London with a stop for another track day at Anglesea on the way.
And I've just gone halfers on another new toy that used to be an SE car. White (used to be blue) SC CC Honda Elise with all the toys. New engine just fitted as two have gone pop in the last year. Now fully rose-jointed, it's probably the most precise Elise I've ever driven.
Andy - If you want to make a detour, I'll be taking the new Elise out for a shake down at North Weald on Friday and then Brands on Saturday...

Oh, and heated motorbike clothing is an absolute must. Driving up the A9 to Inverness in the cold and rain would have been torture otherwise.

Would have most likely flown actually, but was going to do 2 meetings on the way home - hence needing the rangie for samples etc.
meetings ended up getting put back a week, but decided to so it, and just go anyway.
Rangie fuelled, and I've got supplies ready!
Great effort PT - that sounds properly mad.
