Yes, a belter.

Kids made it about as far as USA I think! They were hooting at Mr Bean and seriously impressed by James Bond and Queenie leaping out of that chopper.

Just a shame it dragged on so long, missed Danny Boyle's other masterpiece on the other side (Trainspotting!). Nice to see plenty of its soundtrack in the Olympic ceremony all the same :-)

Good old technology, lying in bed watching beach volleyball on the TV, and split screen rowing and cycling on the laptop.

I almost choked on my beer when he did that.

I was prepared to heap cynicism onto the ceremony but actually really enjoyed it. I liked the look on David Beckams face as he drove that awesome speed boat up the river which said 'screw your football selection, check this out!' :D

One of the highlights for me last night, was seeing the happiness, and proudness of everyone.

The atmosphere must have been electric inside the stadium.

Initially I thought that the ceremony was going to be average, to say the least, but how wrong I was.

Lots of stunning scenes, from the rings being made, and floating across the centre of the stadium.
Bond and the queen scene.
Fireworks display.
Beckam travelling along the Thames looked good too.
The music that is produced from the talented musicians within this country.
The beat of the drums drumming.
Emeli Sande's voice sounded magnificent.
Sir Steve Redgrave entrance with the torch into the arena, and handing it across to the young athletes was inspirational. What a feeling he must have felt, as he ran along towards the stadium in relative silence, and then to see and hear everyone cheering as he entered and run a lap around.
The Olympic torch sculpture was truly stunning too.

Quite a nice buzz about London at the moment. Was..like most,a bit cynical about it initially. Westminster is quieter than normal as most of the tourists have been scared off it seems. Nice that you can see some of the events just taking place in the street. I prepared some of Wimbledon for part of the games and it was a bit sad to see so many empty seats in centre court when so many folk wanted tickets. But apart from that it's all good.

Being a sporty nerd, I was always going to find a way to enjoy it. Applied for loads of tickets but didn't get any.

Really enjoyed the Opening Ceremony (although I think Paul McCartney is becoming a caricature of himself and should fade out of these things) and really enjoying watching some sport on tv that I would never give a second glance to. I remember getting quite jingoistic when the last Olympics were on and enjoying the same feelings now :)

Seems madness you couldn't get tickets but there is always lots of spare seats. Women GB managed to take the beach volleyball earlier a good watch indeed.

We all enjoyed the opening ceremony on tv, all of the venues seem excellent even with the 'spare' seats :(. Down next week for the athletics, men's 200m final and Rosie down over the weekend for the diving on Saturday so hopefully its will be as exciting as it looks on tv
