Does not sound good at all. Sounds like a bizarre crash. Fingers crossed for her.

Ouch, that sounds as if it might have been very nasty :(

Hope she is ok!

Can't help but wonder how a support truck was in the vicinity, and if it would have happened with one of the larger teams..

Oh no :(

Hope she's okay. If they were doing it at Duxford, then it'd really only be installation and straight line testing - so they'd run it out to the apron and blat it up and down. Sounds like a weird crash as she was rolling back to the truck, the car suddenly accelerated and she hit it. DBW throttle failure?

Pointless speculating, I suppose though. Fingers crossed she comes through it.

I notice the bbc are updating the page rather than starting new pages as more comes to light. Iv been keeping an eye on twitter as well as you often get info quicker on there than on the news!

This photo suggests she went into the transporter's loading lift (this is NOT a graphic photo in case anyone is fearful) http://twitpic.com/a3duh9/full. Other photos from earlier in the day show she was sitting very high in the cockpit http://twitpic.com/a3e6py/full

Audio eyewitness account http://audioboo.fm/boos/871249-duxford- ... ess-update Including the audio of the accident.

Hope she recovers ok :(

She's having skull surgery and doctors are trying to save sight in one eye. Sounds like she'll make it, but touch and go on her career.

That's a real shame, but I suppose the positive is that she's still breathing.

Still, real shame from such a freak accident.

Glad she survived it and hope she recovers fully , sadly it sounds like the chances of her making F1 now are probably gone for good

This is heart breaking!!news that she has lost her eye

Just the other day i was talking to a friend, about Massa's incident; then wondering about helmet visor design to help stop this.

As i understand canopy technology for F1 has been looked at ........and I’m thinking, its looking more likely now, after this incident. Im all for this if it is a practical way to help prevent such head injuries

im quite keen on a front half conopy idea and the driver also having a more advanced front visor technology to suit ballistic impact etc..

dont laugh but a narrower slit design could be adopted like a fav bounty hunter

just an idea :thumbsup
