Which Classic would you invest in?

I reckon this has to be worth a punt as a 10 year investment (assuming it checks out as genuine).

Just wondered what people reckon will be the biggest from Zero to Hero cars in the next 10 years or so.

I still think 205 Gtis are at the absolute bottom (maybe just passed) of their value cycle. I reckon they will go daft in years to come.

Series one Elises have started already (wish Id kept my S160 - sold i tfor £10500).

S1 Exige, wish I had been able to keep mine but no regrets as it got me on the property ladder.

Clio Williams are on the rise, finding a good one is tough.

1999 S1 111S? I just purchased Ross's old car and don't expect to sell it for more than I bought it, but hope it'll be the first car I've ever had that doesn't depreciate........ I could be very wrong of course! I'll be very happy if in a year or 18 months time I get what I paid for it. :thumbsup

Edit to add, that i'd love to buy an Exige S1, being as rare as they are, I'd hardly ever drive it and would certainly never track it.

BMW E28 M5 - link to pistonheads article below

(wouldn't make much money on it), but i've never been in a car that felt so well built and solid and also felt delicate, responsive and nimble.

Ek9 civic Type-R, even very high miles cars are starting to go for silly money, low miles cars from Japan are for sale for 13k plus!
Not exactly a classic yet but in ten years it's a deffinate

Front nearside wheel looks to be carrying way too much positive camber - something not right there.

Isn't the RB5 meant to be the sweet spot which is more likely to gather value?

Probably the RB5 would be a better buy. I am not really thinking about it - I've had enough of trying to fix 'old bangers' (as my mother in law calls them).

On the Impreza front, I reckon if you bought into a P1 now that could be a good bet. RB5 is definitely up there though. EVO writeup recently too, IIRC.

S1s rule though ;-)

Ive got 3 Daihatsu Charade GTti's which no doubt will pick up in value soon. i have my doubts about the 300ZX though

Who would have thought a clean Nova would be worth £2k+ 15 years ago?

equally, the appretiation of Mk2 Escorts would never have been believed... I guess its the most unlikely of cars which gain value, but no one realises until there are none left.

22B was the one to go for, P1 values are weak - something that surprised me, so perhaps they are the ones to get into now. RB 320 too new to count?

Tommi Mak evo 6?

My money would be on an Escort RS Cosworth. Just you wait :blackeye

When I bought mine 3 yrs ago they were circa £15k plus for mint ones and £10-12k for good ones.
Top ones are now £10-12k. Think the running costs of them, with 6 month services, are the real downside. Don't think you would lose too much on one, but unless you were thinking really long term niche collector car then I doubt there is money to be made.

Mind you... who am I to talk. I sold my S1 Exige 190 because I wasn't really using it. Not really the wisest move :blackeye
